Tim is a 4-division Grand Master in Steel Challenge, including Pistol-Caliber Carbine Optics (PCCO) and Pistol-Caliber Carbine Irons (PCCI). He recently won the World Speed Shooting Championship in PCCO for the Senior category, setting the Senior Record for Overall along with three stage records. He also holds two National Championships (PCCO and RFRO) and multiple Area and State titles. Tim began competing in USPSA in 2013, but after trying Steel Challenge in 2022 he was hooked, and has focused primarily on SCSA ever since.

He especially enjoys working with competitors who thought physical constraints would keep them off PCC — helping them find the combination of equipment and ammunition that suits their needs. Together we developed a load that balances shootability (comfort), accuracy, and reliability to take advantage of hardware that can run sub-minor: a high-performance load that shoots comfortably across the platforms common in Steel Challenge.

Josh started competing in February 2026 and quickly rose through the ranks to A-class — on the verge of Master — in Carry Optics, Limited Optics, and Rimfire Rifle Optics. His main focus is Steel Challenge, but he often competes in USPSA matches as well to keep his skills sharp for his day job as a Deputy.

In his first-ever major, he took 2nd overall in Carry Optics and 3rd overall in Limited Optics at the Michigan State Steel Challenge — podium finishes in both. He followed that with a top-5 finish in Carry Optics at the Area 5 Championship, going up against some of the best shooters in the world. Down the road, he hopes to build a competitive-shooting training course to help newcomers to the sport the same way he was helped when he was starting out.
